What are your plans after graduation?

After graduation I plan to work as an athletic trainer on a sports medicine team at the college or high school level. I then plan to pursue my master’s degree in physical therapy at Texas Tech University and then work in private practice that focuses on sports injuries and rehabilitation.

Do you plan to return to the Valley?

The Valley has always and will always be home to me, so I would like to eventually settle down with a family in an area near or within the Rio Grande Valley.

What has your education done for you?

By pursuing my education I have discovered a little more about myself and I have become much more knowledgeable. I have been able to map out a successful career path for myself, and I have learned how I would like to give back to the community in the future.

How do you feel about your UTPA experience?

I have loved attending UTPA for the past three years. I think that attending UTPA has been the best thing for me because I have been able to pursue my educational goals, and at the same time I have been able to remain close to my family and friends. Also, while here I have gotten the chance to discover what motivates and drives me to achieve my educational and career goals.

What is your best tip for success?

Keep your mind clear, and always try to go that extra mile because with every extra push you give yourself you gain double back in knowledge and experience.

What advice do you have for college-bound students?

Do your best to get involved at the university level because it will make your university experience so much more enjoyable and it will help create so many networking opportunities.
